The Finale Of Downton Abbey.

The End. Well not quite (thank goodness or I might cry) until December 25th.

In this episode Sybil and Branson and Robert had a good free for all fight, while Dame Maggie intervened , to say something. Sybil&Branson finally succeeded in getting the old man's blessing. He might not attend the wedding however.

Anna and Bates got married and then...well lets not think about that again.

Cora coughed up blood and had it flow from her nose,while the Doc assured us it was normal. Normal my foot.

Carson weezed and let Thomas help out.

And Mosley got drunk.Not his fault poor chap.

And Lavinia died....With a death so moving that I know I was crying.

And Robert was naughty. Naughty,naughty Robert.

And Matthew! You practically killed your fiancee! Mary you too! I can't ever see them together know that they have disgusted me so much.

And this was the 8th episode.

Downton Abbey-Episode 7

I .I'm.In.Shock. Major.Shock. I.I'm.Drinking.Sprite.To.Take .Down.My.Shaking.

Whats his name(oh ,yeah Robert) is a cad. A real honest to goodness cad. He grabbed Jane! Poor,poor Jane!

Robert is so smooth ,he has to have done it before .Hence why they keep on Thomas? Hence why Thomas never talks about his family? Oh yeah.

Sybil and Branson ran away! Of course they came back, but still....It was so sweet!!!

Bugs like me. Of topic, sorry.It just there was this one on my arm...

Anyway naturally, knowing me ,I am still worried.

1.Sybil gets convinced not to be with him

2.Branson gets payed off.

3. One (or both) die.

Now I've probably you all in a tizzy. Sorry.

Lets see...Vera! Vera has written a letter to a friend saying "he sounds worse, I'm scared for my life". Did Bates kill her? Did she set him up? Questions...And Bates bought her arsenic for rat poison...but doesn't want to tell.Oh dear.

Matthew feels a tingling! It comes to a walking! He can walk! Geranimo!He also throughs a tantrum,cause his Mom wants to give his toy to the refuge children.

Cora says "I'm going to help with the refuges" Oh Cora don't be good! Good makes you die!

NEXT WEEK:Dad meets boyfriend..aka his chauffeur. His not very pleased now, but never fear Branson will be asking "Can I call you Dad ?" soon.

Cora is very,very sick, and O'Brian wants to confess her sins, while Robert plays hokey with the maid. And Matthew and Mary dance. Really Matthew?

And Carson doesn't looks so good.

Episode 6 Review-Downton Abbey.

SPOILERS!

Wow. Patrick. Vera. Vera dead. Sybil x Branson=46 second scene.Need to stop talking like a caveman.

So Vera is dead!!!!!!!Who killed her!!! Who!!!! So ,it looks like poison? (I knew it! The series was foreshadowing it).She dropped the tea cup, so poison in the tea I believe.

Maybe O’Brian ,since she’s writing Vera, sent Vera ‘her special blend’. O’brian seems crazy enough to do it.

Moving on to Patrick-Who-May-or-May-Not-Be-The-Heir-But-Probably-Isn’t.

So he probably is Peter Gordon, but he handled it nicely.He didn’t seem like a scheming scamer. 

Mary was simply cruel about him"He's nothing to look at" .And to Edith "What a stupid thing to say!"

Mary,Mary, what do you do about Mary?

And thankfully the dog/donkey/rabbit did not make a appearance. Wheee! Matthew is filled up to the brim with angst though. His eyes were like razor light beams full of angst , and hatred of himself. Whew that was a mouthfull

Lavinia is back. (and Matthew seemed to feel better then, so thats good). Richard threatens Mary(poor girl) . "I have the power to destroy  you okay? Kiss....'shudders'.

As usual Isobel/Cora/Violet have a difference of opinion. It's rare when they all agree. World war 3?

So that was episode 7!

NEXT TIME:

Sybil and Branson !!!!She's made her decison! Please,please run away! (as you can see Branson is back in my good graces).

What else ?

Oh, who killed Vera? "the moving finger points".

And Robert tells Jane he is " Foolish man who has lost his way".And a man who makes really long speeches.

And Richard ask Anna to spy on Mary for him , she then interrupts Mrs.Hughes and Carson's cozy tea to tell them.

Sybil/Branson scene for episode 6. SPOILERS.

Okaydokey. Some of you've of probably heard there was clip from the next episode ,in a interview with Allen Leech.

Well here is the scene!





So ...Are they going to run away in three weeks? Start talking about "them" ? Start talking politics(seeing how slow they're relationship is progressing).

I've got a bad feeling about this. The Spanish Flu is coming...What if Branson dies and she regrets for the rest of her life making him wait.

Maybe he'll just get sick.

Its assumed its Mary to Matthew or Lavinia to Matthew, but maybe its Sybil to Branson? Or visa versa?

Speculation about Episode 5 (Downton Abbey).

First of all I would like to say Thanks! To the person who posted a link to my blog on Digital Spy forums.

 In the TV preview of the next episode , in the scene with Sybil and Branson, where it looks like they're going to kiss....It actually sort of looks like she's going to faint. Her eyelids are going downwards and her head a bit too....Spanish Flu?

She looks sort of feverish too.

...
And those promo pictures (SPOILERS!) for Epi-5....What is O'Brian up too? You know maybe she's going to poison Vera.

  ‘I’m not standing by while she brings misery and ruin on my lady.’. And the series seems to be fro-shadowing poison. Branson and the soup of course. And in Series 1, Daisy gets cleaning powder and food mixed up. Thankfully she manages to put switch them back to the way there supposed to be....But anyway what if O'Brian poisons Vera and pins it on Bates and Anna?

On a longer summery The Global Herald...(course we don't know if its true or not....) its says

"The Earl (Hugh Bonneville) is somewhat out of the loop, making excuses for his wife, hearing of his daughter’s engagement through the papers and only just managing to give the say-so on a new maid to replace Ethel Parks (Amy Nuttall)."


His daughters engagement? The first thing that comes to mind is Mary. But in last episode Richerd Carlisle wrote to Lord Granthem asking for his blessings. Promo Pictures. SPOILERS.


Promo pictures show Mary next to Matthew? Maybe she and him get engaged?


Or Sybil and Branson? Though it probably wouldn't be the best idea to publish a frobidden engagement int the newspaper...Unless...Maybe back then you registered you were engaged? And they printed it whether you wanted them to or not?


That would bring a very interesting reaction. 




The  Earl is reading his newspaper.


"Oh my goodness!" Sybils in engaged" sputters " to BRANSON!?"


Lady Cora"Branson? Is that the Earl of Branson?" Did I meet him at some party?"


"Well dear, he did drove us to the party" mutters something about "I envy your ignorance".

Yep, Cora probably wouldn't remember her drivers name.

And that same summery mentions....


"Devastating news from the front brings a radical change in the future of Downton. A re-ordering of relationships means a financially secure future for one of the staff and a not so secure future for those upstairs. Violet (Maggie Smith) does her best to pull some strings, but there is little she can do in the face of so much upheaval except bully a few local inferiors. A financially secure future for one of the staff....who?" And a not so secure future for those upstairs?

Perhaps someone downstairs is the third heir?(Promo pictures SPOILERS ,Matthew looks pretty bummed out about something, so maybe he refuses the title of Earl because he's so upset?)

Maybe Thomas is the third Earl? Though technically he isn't a staff member anymore...But it would be bad for those upstairs, because he would just chuck them out the door when he inherited....

Ah my mind. It is a whirling with teasers, spoilers and theory. My poor mind!

Episode 4-Downton Abbey.

Edith really shines in this one. She's organizing a concert. She's helping Daisy. She's tells Mary something she should know. She's great!


Branson and Sybil....dum.dum.dum...Well um....He's determined?

I love Violets line in the conversation with Mary about Sybil's Suitor. "I had a endless series of crushes when I was her age" That makes be laugh every time.


As for Branson "belittling " Sybil's work , I think I have a explanation for that....He said "Bringing tea to all those randy officers". Randy ...look it up. Branson is worried about Sybil(sure maybe he could of said it differently but he's Branson) .I'm sure the servants have heard about Ethel and Randy Andy (Major Bryant) by now. Mrs. Hughes may not of not told them, but they probably put two and two, together. Ethel has left.Major Bryant flirted with her. And he (next time) is visiting his "pals". Probably he and his "pals" have a reputation as well is maybe some of the other officers.

So yeah (yeah, is a word not used in the 1918s, Violet would not approve) he's worried.

 Not sure if this is from the episode but its hilarious.

William and Matthew are missing....dum..dum..dum.. Thank goodness they come back.

I don't think its realistic that Matthew would of started singing (oh that was painful) he would of said "Oh don't  stop" and sat down .

O'Brian is as Thomas masterfully remarks "A strange one".
Thomas doesn't seem to care much about O'Brian's schemes anymore. He just smokes and has cuppa's of tea.

Bates is back! . "Thomas is a sergeant now" "Another reason to pray for peace".

"So what scandal was your wife threatening to expose?" "Oh nothing, just some silly nonsense about your daughter and a turkish gentlemen that oh so conviently died "

"Alrighty Bates, even though it concerns my family, I won't care about the 'scandel' ".
Would someone please explain why everyone has a crush on Bates? Its a mystery to me.He's nice of course but crush whys?


Mrs.Bird starts a soup kitchen and Mrs.Patmore and Daisy help out. Heartwarming.
NEXT TIME.....

I think Violet will walk right in when Sybil and Branson are about to kiss(thats what the preview indicated).

Remember her crushes? She'll go"Oh how romantic , reminds me when I was your age I had a crushes on a chauffeur  too, so romantic" and Sybil and Branson will be ....shocked.As my Mom said (the idea was also hers too) that will probably take the romance right out of it. Granny did this too! The Dowanger Countess did this too!

And Mary is doing work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Call 911!!! If Carson manages to overcome his fear of the phone!!!!!

And does Daddy finally find out the scandal that everyone knows except for him?Hmmm.

And Ethel does not look good....She might die...The funeral? Its so sad. Who will get the baby? Anna and Bates?

Vera is back! Oh gee.

Downton Abbey Series Two Episode 1.

Downton Abbey premiered it's second season at 9 pm Sunday, Sept 18th.


Downton Abbey is a ITV Drama about a family and there servants in the 1914 area. In the second series in its 1916 and England is at War, which means the poor Granthams might have to lift a a few fingers.



Episode 1 starts with a dramatic (hence the Drama genre) scene of the trenches with Matthew running for his life , and then annoucing he has two days of leave , that he'll be using to visit old Downton.

Next we see a concert to raise money for the hospital being set up in Downton , and then Isabol (Matthew's Mother) informs them that Matthew will be coming here on leave and bringing...drumroll....his fiance!

His fiance is a women named Lavina Swire. She seems much nice then Lady Mary ,though others think she's not who she says she is or somethings up with her (like my Dad, but then I caught him watching Matthew/Mary videos on a Ipad at the Apple store ...odd).

Carson is not extacly pleased to see Matthew and is not planning anything special for him. "Because he broke Lady Mary's heart", though what Mrs. Hughes says is much more truthfully, "Lady Mary broke her own heart, that is if she has a heart".

Why does Carson dote on Lady Mary so much? Could he be her Father? Is the first series mentions Lady Cora and Lord Granthems first year of marriage was unhappy . Scandel Alert!

Then at the concert some ladys decide it would be fun to hand out white feathers. One to William who is upset since for some reason he wants to fight in the war (The Dowanger Countess told the officials he had a skin condition and that Mosely had lung trouble, Mosely was rather happy about being excused). And one to Branson who laughed.


Edith is learning how to drive, and mentions that she can drive them when they have no servants (as my Mom points out she seems the only one aware of the fact they won't have servants someday).

Lady Cora still trust O'Brian. Go figure.
Lord Granthem is wearing his army uniform and going on and on about it. Rather amusing.


Sybil has decided to be a nurse and Isabol tells out she will have to learn basic skills, which she does though she doesn't know how to fill a tea kettle when she starts. I can NOT imagine not knowing that.


Branson decides to propose (I guess thats what it was) to Sybil after driving here to the nursing school. She refuses...maybe it wasn't the best idea to say "Its okay if your cast away from your family".Never reassuring. I'd must admit, I was surprise she refused, I thought she liked him.

Edith seems is though she's finding a way to be happy. She just ignores Mary,rather then playing in her fingers. And as I said earlier she's learning how to drive. . I'm looking forward to seeing Ediths character develop .

Mary has decided she does like Matthew after all and is seen praying for his safe return. If I've ever done anything good God? she ask. Matthew is cursed now.


So that basically sums it up.
